The top is shirred from neckline to waist — fine elastic rows that give with you rather than sit against you — finishing in a short ruffle that falls over the trouser waist. The trousers are wide and high, drawn in with a soft tie, with two deep patch pockets you'll actually use.

Fit note

The shirring stretches, so the top works across a range of sizes — take your usual one. The trousers are generous through the hip and leg.

Trousers are drafted for 5'6" / 168 cm and fall to the ankle. Shorter than that and they'll break on the foot.

Sizes run S to XL only. If you usually wear 2XL or above, this one won't work for you — we'd rather say so than have you order and return it.

Care

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Hang to dry. Do not tumble dry. Shirring relaxes slightly in the wash and recovers as it dries. Cool iron on the trousers only — pressing the smocking flattens it.
